MCNS has successfully undertaken and delivered a full capacity planning project as part of the project “Rural Connect, Greece, Implementation and Support of Hybrid NGA”, for a Greek Telecom comsortium named as “Rural Connect SA” in Greece.
The projects' immediate goal is the planning, installation and operation of necessary infrastructure for broadband internet access, in order to achieve digital convergence for the most disadvantaged rural areas of Greece with the rest of the country.
MCNS project duties were related to
- Execute field measurements (drive tests) and derive the capacity performance for different site configurations
- Estimate SINR vs. throughput performance for different eNodeB configurations.
- RF pathloss modeling for 3.6 GHz band in Rural LoS and non-LoS environments with different spatial (MIMO) antenna schemes and LTE-TDD technology equipment.
- Initial LTE-RAN capacity planning considering several different QoS profiles and scheduler combinations for IP services
